We have been feverishly trying to allocate our money to different areas, stock up on necessities and prepare for the reality that in 3 months we will go from a dual income family of two to a single income family of three. It's scary to go from living very comfortably to the possiblility of barely paying the bills.
Kel has been working on the basement and we are starting to get close. It's looking like we may even have it finished in the next couple of weeks. He has done an incredible job!
The beginning: drywall
Framing and Paint (thanks to mom and Caytlyn!) That big timber will be the step below the fire place and there is a second one that will be the mantel.
While Kel was busy working his full time job at Wasatch, booting cars, and building our fireplace in his spare time, my mom and I have been frantically sewing:
The crib quilt and crib skirt (and baby's first christmas present:the bull :) )
We also made a crib skirt, curtains and an adorable, reversible car seat cover:
and mom took home the beginings of a cover for an old swing I inherited. I LOVE it all! My mom is so wonderful! She and Caytlyn also threw me a baby shower in Rexburg. It was amazing! They put so much work into it and so many of the people who have shaped my life came. It was a great day!
CUTEST BOOTS EVER!
Adorable decor: Diaper cake and little cups filled with camo popcorn that say "ready to pop" all caytlyn creations!Yummy refreshments!
I am so very blessed to have such incredible people in my life. The love and generosity brought me and my mom to tears.
A few other January updates include me passing my glucose test (yay! no diabetes!), repeated trips to Idaho- usually there and back in less than 24 hours due to Christmas with my fam, the baby shower, and they 3 more to replace the water heater in our Idaho Falls house (after it decided to flood the living room-sad day), purchasing the car seat and stroller and my transition into "obviously pregnant" mode (i'll have to post pictures soon.)
This sweet little boy is beating his momma up on a regular basis and we can't wait to meet him. . though there are moments when I think we both wish we had a little extra baking time (I'm sure I'll be singing a different tune in about 6 weeks. At this point I'm at 29 weeks and trying to enjoy (and survive) this new experience. I guess we'll see what February brings!

Yea for all the fun things that happened. Your basement is looking awesome! Please call and let us come and help with the stone (or as Andrew says the boy will work on the stone and the girls can stay upstairs)! I love the camo it is so cute and so fun little boys are so much fun! Looks like you had a great shower remember I really want to help with the one here so give your mom my number please! If I can give you one piece of advice I know that it is a crazy time and everything but make sure to take some time and enjoy some things that you will never get to do or get to do as easily once you have that cute little boy here.
